Direct answer / 01

What is motion design?

Motion design is the use of animation and movement in digital products and media to communicate, guide attention and create continuity. In an interface, motion explains what changed and where something came from — a panel sliding from the edge it will return to, a list item animating into the position it now occupies. In marketing and brand work, motion design covers explainer videos, animated graphics and brand animation. Effective motion design is purposeful and fast; decorative animation that delays the user is a defect, not a feature.

Capabilities

Motion we produce

01

UI animation

Transitions, loading states and micro-interactions delivered as Lottie or CSS specifications developers can implement exactly.

02

Explainer and product video

Animated explanations of complex products for landing pages, onboarding and sales.

03

Brand and logo animation

Animated identity assets for video, social and product intros that stay on brand across every channel.

04

Data and process animation

Charts, flows and systems animated so a complicated idea lands in seconds.

05

Social and ad motion

Short-form, platform-native motion assets sized and cut for each channel.

06

Onboarding sequences

Motion-led onboarding that teaches the product instead of listing its features.

Delivery

Handover that implements cleanly

Interface motion is delivered as Lottie JSON or Rive files with documented timings, easing and triggers, plus reduced-motion fallbacks. Video is delivered in the formats and aspect ratios each channel needs.

Everything is specified so the shipped animation matches the approved one — and we verify it in testing.

Useful answers

Questions,
clarified.

Motion design is the use of animation in digital products and media to communicate, direct attention and create continuity — from interface transitions and micro-interactions to explainer video and brand animation.

Motion explains change. It shows users where something came from and where it went, which reduces cognitive load and makes an interface feel faster and more coherent than the same interface without it.

Lottie JSON and Rive for interface animation, MP4 and WebM for video, GIF and platform-specific cuts for social, plus written specifications for CSS-implemented motion.

Typically three to five weeks from script to final delivery for a 60 to 90 second animated explainer, including storyboard and revision rounds.

Badly implemented animation does. We deliver GPU-friendly, size-optimised motion with reduced-motion fallbacks, and we performance-test the result rather than assuming it's fine.
